An editorial, craft-led direction: provenance, roast dates and tasting notes set down in confident type, left to speak for themselves. The quality cue is restraint with a firm hand.
The frame is neutral black and white; colour appears only inside the exhibits. Sections stack in order when JavaScript is unavailable.
Body text pairs, measured now and required to hold WCAG AA 4.5:1 at Gate 3:
Ink #211A12 on Cream #F6EFE3, 15.1:1 · Ink on Surface #FCF8EF, 16.2:1 · Cream on Ink (reversal panels), 15.1:1 · Ember #9C4520 on Cream, 5.6:1, accent text only. Ember is never small type on ink.
Display: Fraunces (SIL OFL, Google Fonts) with its WONK axis on, tracking tight at display sizes. Body: Inter (SIL OFL), kept plain so the serif carries the character.
A washed Caturra grown high in Huila and roasted light in Brunswick, for people who read the bag before they brew it.
Our Colombia single origin is a washed Caturra grown at altitude in Huila and roasted light in Brunswick. Expect red apple, panela and a clean, tea-like finish. We write the roast date on every bag, because freshness is the one claim that matters.

The kept illustrations render as flat single-colour marks via CSS masks: Roast Ink for the cup, Ember for the dog. One mark per page at most, never beside photography, never at billboard scale.

Offices: published per-kilo pricing and headcount sizing, no quote forms. Skip, pause or swap anytime.
Lot 214
One asset image (blend-melbourne.png), rotated lot tag, rubber-stamp eyebrow, dual CTAs, deckle base. The grained surface stays inside this card.
Set in Fraunces italic on white; in the direction these lines may also reverse out of Roast Ink (see the reversed pair, Colour tab).
Competitor white space. Nine competitors split B2B between pricing-free enquiry forms and makeshift discount codes; none offers a productised office subscription with published per-kilo pricing. Understatement makes published pricing believable to a non-expert office buyer.
Measured demand. Specialty queries lead the category: “coffee roaster melbourne” at 1,900 a month, city “coffee roaster” at 3,600, “coffee subscription australia” at 390 with a $4.56 CPC. Provenance language is the vocabulary of those queries, so this direction doubles as SEO for pages stuck at positions 24 to 68.
Existing brand equity. The Melbourne blend naming and “Behind The Blend” storytelling map cleanly to Shopify metafields; the labels, lot numbers and roast-date stamps give that data a printed home, and plain statements like “skip, pause or swap anytime” convert the old site's known fixes into the brand.
